Kuroshio Dojo is not a commercial martial arts school. While the dojo's efforts in assisting everyone to gain the capacity to train properly are universally applied, the dojo cannot accept all interested parties. Training at Kuroshio Dojo requires high levels of integrity, discipline, and commitment.
Kuroshio Dojo is an application-only school for those who want real martial skill, consistency, community, and composure
without crowded gyms or commercial noise.
Students train in a quiet, focused environment that is surrounded by nature to develop precision, understanding, and control. Instruction is individualized and adaptive, with an emphasis on long-term development rather than short-term performance. Students train together in a small, trusted group and are able to apply their training under pressure without the risk of injury due to negligence.
Training will include grappling, striking, weapons study, history, survival skills, strategy, breath work, and solo practice.
This training is NOT for you if:
-You're looking for casual fitness classes
- You want rank without skill acquisition
-You don't train consistently
-You want a crowded gym atmosphere
-You don't want to be coached closely
The Trial Membership:
Kuroshio Dojo does not accept walk-in members. Any individual seeking dojo membership must first complete a trial membership. All candidates for trial membership will have their request considered in light of the dojo's current capacity.
We require all prospective students to have a meeting or call with the Dojo-Cho first before participating. We do not discriminate against anyone. Admission depends entirely on the candidates attitude, and their intentions. Their energy must fit with that of the dojo. We don’t tolerate egos or anyone seeking to hurt other students. If they continuously show commitment and a good heart, only then will they be recognized by the Kuroshio Dojo as a formal student.
Full Dojo Membership:
Pay by Class: $20/class
Regular Members: $150/month
Private Students: $500/month
(2 private classes/week and 1 group class/ week.)
Guest Members:
Guest Members are practitioners of the same arts who are currently training at another dojo. Guest members are welcome to train at Kuroshio Dojo at anytime. To train at the dojo, Guest Members must first contact the Dojo-Cho prior to participating in a class. Guest Members may train regularly at the dojo but may not attend more than two classes per week. Guest Members do not have a Dues Responsibility, nor is there a "mat fee" for Guest Members.
